Converting
Slitting
Roll goods cut to your working width, up to 2 m. Roll length is set by media thickness — we quote the combination your line can actually load.
Lamination
Carbon media bonded to foam, nonwoven, HEPA or a second adsorbent so it arrives as one part instead of a stack you assemble.
Die cutting
Pads, discs, rings, slots and custom outlines cut to your drawing. Adhesive backing and rounded corners on request.
Pleating & framing
Pleated packs built into panel, header, V-bank or pocket formats in paper, plastic or metal frames.
Cartridge assembly
Cylindrical and honeycomb cartridges filled with granular, spherical or impregnated media to the loading you specify.
Composite construction
Two or three adsorbents in one build — carbon for mercaptans and solvents, zeolite for ammonia — sized to the depth available.
The commercial argument is simple: you should not have to coordinate the carbon, the substrate, the laminate and the cut yourself — or absorb the tolerance stack when four vendors each hit their own spec.

Full production range
Beyond the lines held in U.S. stock, the plant produces a much broader range of activated carbon and filtration products. These are made to order and ship from the factory in China; sample and bulk lead times are quoted per request, separately from the U.S.-stocked items.
HVAC & industrial air filters
Panel, bag, pocket, V-bank and box filters, with and without internal frames, across initial, medium and HEPA-grade efficiency ratings, including high-temperature-resistant options.
Raw materials & semi-finished goods
For manufacturers building their own finished products: activated carbon fiber (ACF) felt, fiber cotton, non-woven fabric, honeycomb carbon block, granular activated carbon, activated carbon paper and deodorizing carbon cloth.

Specialty application filters
Paint booth overspray filters and paint arrestor paper, photocatalyst filter mesh, range hood and kitchen exhaust filters, HVAC granular-carbon-impregnated mesh, aquarium filter media, carbon fiber resistance felt, and oil-proof mats, dual-layer sponge and drip trays.
The plant also produces non-woven polishing and buffing cloth for paint finishing, polishing, furniture grain treatment and general cleaning — a separate line from the carbon filtration materials, available on request.
Not currently in scope: personal protective equipment (masks, respirators) is manufactured for other markets but is not part of the Carbotopia U.S. catalog, because that category runs through a separate NIOSH/FDA regulatory pathway.

What to send for a quotation
All of it helps; none of it is required to start. A photo of the part you use today is usually enough for a first answer.
- Dimensions — or a drawing, or the existing part
- Target contaminant — ammonia, mercaptans, VOCs, formaldehyde, or a description of the odor
- Airflow and pressure-drop limit
- Media thickness, GSM and carbon loading, if already specified
- Substrate and any flame-retardant requirement
- Annual volume and sample quantity
- Packaging — count per bag or carton, labeling, private label

Questions to ask before the first production order
The list above is what we need from you. This is what you should be asking us — and anyone else you are quoting.
What should I ask a filter component manufacturer before placing a first production order?
Five things decide whether a first order goes smoothly. Who makes the media and who converts it — often two different companies. Whether every published figure comes with its test conditions, because a pressure drop without a face velocity and a thickness cannot be compared with anyone else's. Who owns the die once it is cut, and what a later change to the outline involves — agree that in writing before tooling. What the minimum is and what changes at volume; ours is 30 units made to your spec. And what ships with the goods: TDS, SDS and third-party test reports are worth agreeing on before the order rather than requesting after it.
What should I check on a sample before approving mass production?
Measure the part against the drawing including tolerance, not against the photo. Rub the media with a white cloth and see whether carbon comes off — for anything a consumer or a pet touches, that one test decides the construction. Check pressure drop at your own face velocity rather than the one printed on the datasheet. Fit it into the actual housing, not the CAD model, with the adhesive or frame it will really have. Approve the packaging in the form it will ship, with the label on it. Then keep a signed retained sample: it is the only reference you will have if a later lot is ever questioned.
