Zeolite loaded onto a polyester nonwoven base, supplied by the roll or die-cut to your part. Zeolite is a polar adsorbent, which is why it is specified wherever ammonia and ammonium are the problem — water treatment, aquarium and pond filtration, and enclosed spaces — and where plain activated carbon is comparatively weak.

We do not publish an adsorption capacity figure for zeolite media. Capacity depends on the grade, the loading, humidity and contact time, and we would rather send you material to test than quote a number we cannot stand behind. Our granular carbon media is the one product where an ammonia figure is measured and a report is available.
Why zeolite rather than carbon
Polar, not just porous
Activated carbon works mainly by physical adsorption in nonpolar pores. Zeolite's aluminosilicate framework carries a charge, which is what gives it affinity for small polar molecules such as ammonia.
Different job, not a better one
Zeolite is weak where carbon is strong — mercaptans, solvents and mixed VOCs. Choosing it instead of carbon rather than alongside it usually makes a product worse.
Forms like a nonwoven
Because the zeolite sits on a polyester base, it cuts, folds and die-cuts the same way filter cotton does. No separate handling on your line.
A litter box produces both ammonia and mercaptans. The usual answer is not zeolite or carbon — it is a construction that carries both, sized to the space you have.

Most zeolite demand sits in water — aquarium and pond filtration, and water-treatment stages where ammonium is the target. It is also specified for enclosed pet products, where urine odor is the complaint. Where the part also has to handle solvents or general VOCs, it is paired with carbon nonwoven or ACF felt in one laminated build.
