Adsorbent media, supplied the way your line needs it.
Activated carbon, activated carbon fiber and zeolite — as roll goods, as converted parts, or as finished filter assemblies. One supplier across all three, so the material and the conversion are quoted together.
Thickness 0.2–50 mm · width to 2 m · die-cut, laminated, pleated or framed. Samples are free; shipping is not included.
Three ways we supply it
Most buyers arrive knowing which of these they need. It changes what we quote and what information we ask for.
Roll & sheet media
For converters who cut, laminate or assemble in-house. Quoted by width, thickness and carbon loading.
You send: width, thickness, target contaminant, annual volume
Converted components
Die-cut pads, discs, laminated stacks and cut parts, made to your outline.
You send: a drawing, dimensions, or the part you buy today
Finished filter assemblies
Pleated packs, framed panels, bag filters and cartridges, built around the media.
You send: dimensions, airflow, pressure-drop limit, frame type
Materials
| Material | Form | Published specification | Usually chosen for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Activated carbon fiber felt & cloth | Roll, sheet, die-cut part | Grades SY-1000 to SY-2000 · iodine 850–1800 mg/g · felt 0.8–4.5 mm · cloth 80–350 g/m² | Thinnest build; mercaptans and amines |
| Activated carbon nonwoven (filter cotton) | Roll, sheet, die-cut, pleated | Carbon ≥50% · 1–30 mm · width to 200 cm · ≤80 Pa at 1.0 m/s on 5 mm | Widest thickness range; lowest cost per part |
| Granular activated carbon media | Foam sheet, cut part, cartridge fill | Carbon ≥80% · 1200 g/m² at 5 mm · ammonia ≥20% wt · 3–50 mm · 15–60 ppi | Highest carbon load; the one with an ammonia figure |
| Activated carbon foam | Block, sheet, pad, die-cut part | Open-cell PU · carbon typically ≥50% · 10–60 ppi · width to 1.2 m · length 2 m | Lowest airflow resistance at depth |
| Composite carbon nonwoven | Roll, sheet, laminated stack | 0.5–1.5 mm · 100–650 g/m² · carbon 10–80% · ≥92% filtration at 5 μm | Will not shed carbon; doubles as a pre-filter |
| Zeolite filter media | Roll, sheet, die-cut pad | Zeolite on polyester nonwoven · 1–20 mm · cut and folded to size | Ammonia and other polar compounds |
| Impregnated activated carbon | Granular, or carried on converted media | Coal or coconut base · phosphoric acid and sodium carbonate grades · 5–10 wt% load | Acid and alkaline gases carbon alone handles poorly |
| Honeycomb activated carbon | Block, panel, cartridge fill | Iodine 300–800 mg/g · cell 1.5–8 mm · standard and water-resistant grades · impregnated grades available | Lowest airflow resistance; deep beds |
| Spherical (ball) carbon | Loose media, bonded mesh, pad | Flame-retardant grades available | VOC and odor stages where dust must stay low |
Published values are product-series references. Final values are confirmed against the selected grade and the order specification.
Which material for which problem
Adsorption is not one behavior. Matching the adsorbent to the molecule matters more than buying the highest iodine number on the list.
Ammonia and amines
Small polar molecules. Plain activated carbon is comparatively weak here — zeolite is the polar adsorbent, and chemically impregnated carbon is the third route.
Mercaptans and sulfur odors
Activated carbon fiber's home ground, adsorbing these several to tens of times more than granular carbon at the same weight.
Mixed VOCs and general odor
Broad and continuous. Contact time and airflow usually decide the result more than the carbon grade does.
Adsorption performance depends on the adsorbent, the loading, contact time, airflow, humidity and operating conditions. Any number quoted without its test conditions is not a specification.
What to send for a material recommendation
- The target contaminant — or a description of the odor source
- Dimensions, a drawing, or the part you buy today
- Airflow and any pressure-drop limit
- Available depth in the housing
- Annual volume and sample quantity
Not all of it is needed to start. The target contaminant and the space available are usually enough for a first recommendation. See how the media is converted into a finished part, or start with an application: pet care, aquarium or air treatment.
Not sure which material fits?
Send the part and the conditions it runs in. We come back with two or three candidate constructions to compare on adsorption, airflow and service life.
