Which activated carbon media is best for an air purifier?
It depends on how much pressure your fan can spare, because every carbon stage costs some. Honeycomb carbon has the lowest resistance, for continuous circulation where the fan has little headroom. Granular carbon mesh carries the most carbon: ≥80%, 1200 g/m² at 5 mm. ACF felt and cloth give the thinnest build.
Can activated carbon media be laminated onto a HEPA filter?
Yes. The carbon layer can be supplied standalone or laminated onto your existing HEPA, and die-cut, pleated or framed. Thickness runs 0.5–50 mm, width up to 2 m.
Is a higher iodine value always better for air filter carbon?
