Honeycomb activated carbon: carbon formed into blocks with straight open channels. Air passes straight through, which gives it the lowest airflow resistance of any carbon media we supply — the choice for deep beds and for continuous circulation where the fan has little headroom.

Why honeycomb
Every carbon stage costs you pressure. Honeycomb keeps that cost lowest: the channels run straight through the block, so the fan pushes air along open paths instead of through a packed bed.
Where the same depth has to carry more carbon, granular carbon mesh reaches ≥80%. Where the target is an acid or basic gas that plain carbon holds poorly, see impregnated activated carbon.

Buyer questions
Frequently asked questions
Short answers drawn from the specifications on this page.
What is honeycomb activated carbon?
Activated carbon formed into blocks with straight open channels. Air passes straight through, which gives it the lowest airflow resistance of the carbon media we supply.
What cell sizes and iodine values are available?
Cell size runs from 1.5 to 8 mm and iodine value from 300 to 800 mg/g. It is supplied as block, panel or cartridge fill.
Is water-resistant or impregnated honeycomb carbon available?
Yes. Honeycomb carbon comes in standard and water-resistant grades, and impregnated grades are available.
